Big surprise: turns out it's possible to cautiously recommend a treatment without a large double blinded placebo-controlled RTC.

Or at least it was, before Covid.

If a drug has been found safe and doctors determines its effectiveness, they should offer it to their patients always. If they are afraid of lawsuits then get a written consent from those patients that make the upside and down side to a therapy abd drug. Its that simple. Clinical studies , or observational studies is enough always. If a person or group has a conflict of interest ,its a waste of time and effort to convince them of anything contrary to their money interests. Everyone has seen the endless pharmaceutical commercials on American TV with endless contraindications of potential horrific side effects. No issue pushing those drugs yet Ivermectin and a host of other anti parasitic/ anti viral drugs that have a fantastic record of safety that could safe lives ,that they have a problem with. . The only way this will be resolved is to take this into a Federal court and file a class action lawsuit againt the FDA,NIH and WHO as was done in South Africa...
