Do you mean on taking Ivermectin after covid19 has taken hold?

Or do you mean if one is taking for prophylaxis, if some symptoms appear?

Very rarely some have reported dizziness or nausea.

Ivermectin reduces incidence by 8x according to Zagazig Univ Egypt study - it doesn't mean you won't get symptoms. Also it depends on the person their age, vitamin d status.

I know of people taking ivermectin (diabetic on insulin) who developed very mild disease - but who did take steroids for the post-day-8 hyperinflammatory stage just in case ( since there usual IS some oximeter decline and inflammatory effect in all people).

For 100pct treatment you need the full gamut or cocktail of medicines that is generally called "early treatment".

Once symptoms have started in your father, you need to treat him with full protocol.

Check the post on PM Imran Khan.

And check the post of Dr Syed Haider if you are in the US and need telemedicine early treatment:

It's a matter of progression of viral load - by the time your mother received a positive covid diagnosis (assuming she was showing symptoms by then), she was likely contagious for days. If this is the case, your father could have been exposed days before receiving ivermectin as a post-exposure prophylaxis. If viral load was already growing then Ivermectin might not prevent the disease from manifesting. Ivermectin should decrease symptoms and duration of COVID-19, but watch for deterioration of O2 saturation and take to hospital iif they aren't getting better. Ivermectin isn't magic, don't rely on it exclusively.

with that close contact with a positive case and now symptoms, assume infection and use IVM as part of a treatment regimen (treatment doses, not prophylactic).

Almost no symptoms. He had a caught that almost disappeared but nevertheless he's taking Ivermectin for full 5 days.
