Despite FDA, DOH warning, House to probe possible use of ivermectin as COVID-19 treatment[-] drkprinz21 | 3 points
This is a good sign. The politicians are now on board and putting pressure on the DOH and FDA.
Exactly, there are petitions to put more spotlight on the issues as well, regarding ivermectin. I think the Twitter storm has increased the pressure.

Yeah not so fast. There is a disinformation campaign going on in the Philippines 🇵🇠if Reddit is an indication. I just don’t get the political tussle on science but there is a faction who are trying to discredit this with the usual anecdotes
For those that don't know Philippines politics, the leader there is like if Trump and Bolsonaro had a baby.
Even if ivermectin was approved everywhere else, he wouldn't allow it, heck specifically because if it worked.
But both Trump and Bolsonaro tried to get non-vax medicines to be taken seriously as COVID treatments. That is exactly why they were so vilified in the media - if any non-vax medicine is shown to work, pharma marketing for their preferred drug will be unsuccessful. That cannot be allowed to happen.
lol they pushed HCQ which killed people because it's not an actual antiviral, and then they BOTH caught covid and didn't use HCQ to treat it but other treatments with proven science instead
they singlehandedly poisoned political and media opinion against any other off-label use in their own countries, they aren't the heroes, they are the villians, if anything ivermectin is suffering adoption because of them

Your points about HCQ are based on misinformation.
No, my points on HCQ are based on the fact HCQ is simply an immunosuppressant. It turns off the immune system of the host. If you are damn lucky, covid won't kill you at that point as it rages through your system. But it does prevent your own body from killing you in response to covid.
I'd take ivermectin any day for it's true antiviral properties against covid (and it saved my life after two months when covid almost killed me). I'd never ever take HCQ even with death giving me a bear hug, and I had that option. I knew better.
HCQ works (although ivermectin works better). Look at Figure 3 of this paper (pdf). HCQ is right there in the list of therapies. This paper is

HCQ is very limited as it’s only for fairly healthy people in the first stage of the disease and has to be accompanied by Zinc. It has no benefit in stages 2 and 3. IVM on the other hand is useful in all 3 stages but of course best application is stage 1.
HCQ is an immunosuppressant.
It "works" by turning off the immune system of the host.
That's incredibly dangerous with covid. But yeah it will stop the body from overreacting to covid raging through your system. So it's a false sense of security and dumb luck when it works because it's basically a miracle your body can clear a virus at that point.
I'd definitely use ivermectin. I'd never touch HCQ
