Of course not. It may be illegal for someone to sell or distribute medications depending on where you live without a license. The only drugs you can’t legally take are controlled substances like narcotics. Again check your country’s laws

Thanks for the response. Looking into it further, says no to distribution, but only advises against self-diagnosis. Without doctors willing to prescribe it, this info is really good..thank you

So how dangerous is it for a human to take animal medicine? The official answer is that you shouldn’t take animal drugs. Even if you could accurately diagnose yourself, figure out the appropriate dose, and adroitly cut the horse pills down to the right size, it’s hard to tell whether the amount and type of inactive ingredients in any particular drug are safe for people.

The official recommendation is to not take veterinary products but as far as people are concerned with ivermectin, the only active medicinal ingredient is ivermectin for most of the products. Ivermectin itself is safe and I haven’t heard of any adverse effects from using vet stuff or human tabs in literature or anecdotes unless it is contraindicated with something or the person has parasites and has a die off reaction.

The tricky part of using vet stuff is knowing what to look for and what to avoid in the ingredients. Obviously no professional will advocate for it but if you really need to then make sure that

1) there’s only 1 active ingredient 2) proprietary ingredients are safe to consume (usually are if orally taken for mammals so try not to take fish or bird ivermectin) 3) make sure you know individual risk level from other contraindicated meds or a health issue thag may cause side effects and complications. 4) dose it properly. If you don’t know then try small and go up to whatever the consensus is in the community 5) make sure it doesn’t hurt your liver or kidney. I have been taking iVM every 5 days since my family are essential workers. No clue what this will do to my body long term but it’s better than what covid can do to your body long term.

Again, not medical advice. Do whatever suits your risk tolerance. I’ve personally taken horse paste from Amazon and human tabs from India and have had no side effects.
