Ivermectin brand questionHi guys, my mom who is a CRNA has been preaching ivermectin to our family and friends and has gotten 20 or so to take it every two weeks. None of them have gotten sick. I’m starting to jump on board.
My question / concern is, she is buying it from Tractor Supply / Atwood’s vs a human grade form from a pharmacy. I expressed my concern and she assured me chemically it’s exactly same. ivermectin tractor supply
Has there been any discussion on this? Anyone else take a version intended for animals?
I linked exact version she is taking above. Thanks

EDIT: comments are locked on this post - it has been kept visible for illustrative purposes.
Topics on obtaining and dosing veterinary grade ivermectin (in countries where ivermectin is not available over the counter) are avoided on r/ivermectin.
Those sorts of discussions were the domain of r/gettingivermectin, but r/gettingivermectin was removed by reddit after the sole moderator u/TrumpLyftAlles (who was also one of two moderators of r/ivermectin at that time) was banned from reddit (see details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ivermectin/comments/lfq9in/_/gmne09k and here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ivermectin/comments/ldxlrd Looking for new mods to take over this sub).
We generally avoid recommendations on veterinary grade ivermectin use in humans. However we understand that access to ivermectin can become a life and death situation for some, due to the extreme time sensitivity of this disease (things move fast in covid19 once you reach day 8 from first symptoms). For this reason this post is pinned to the top to provide some context.
What follows is my comment to the original poster above:
By the old rules of this sub-reddit r/ivermectin, posts on veterinary grade ivermectin etc. are avoided.
However, your mother seems to be aware of what to get (more than what I could tell you) - from what I recall of r/gettingivermectin - the folks there were preferring the injectable liquid for it's greater quality and fewer secondary ingredients (some solvent) - but were taking it orally which theoretically should make it a safer alternative (and safer still than horse paste).
Prior to that there were videos on YouTube where doctors were advising on how to measure out the horse paste version of ivermectin (!). In addition, in South America there seems to be greater tolerance to the use of veterinary ivermectin (ivermectin is also used more widely there).
This attests to the desperation that arises when time critical drugs are not available over the counter (ivermectin IS available over the counter in several countries, but not in the US).
Those taking the 1 percent solution mentioned above should note that a tiny amount ie 1mL of this liquid may contain as much as 10mg of Ivermectin:
https://www.scahealth.com/p/noromectin-injection-for-cattle-and-swine Noromectin Injection for Cattle and Swine by Norbrook Laboratories
Each mL of Noromectin Injection for Cattle and Swine contains 10 mg of ivermectin, sufficient to treat 110 lb of body weight in cattle or 75 lb or body weight in swine.
The FLCCC (authors of the MATH+ and I-MASK+ protocols) also advocates people take the human form of the drug and not the veterinary form. This is why ivermectin needs to become easier to obtain from pharmacies (it is available over the counter as a generic drug that is very cheap in many countries).
EDIT: I have been asked to clarify this statement where I say the FLCCC advocates against use of veterinary ivermectin. I am referring to their official stance (they obviously don't want to be saying that use horse paste - as that will be used to label them as quacks). Individual members may differ from this view for situations where there is no alternative. In the The Doctors video, Dr Pierre Kory is pressed on this and he says they don't advise taking veterinary form:
If YouTube deletes it should be available, in segments, on the shows site here: https://www.thedoctorstv.com/episode/13069
The full 14 minute video is also available on vimeo:
https://vimeo.com/511637234
at the 13:15 minute mark:
The older plastic surgeon host: There could be a concern that people might try to get their hands on the veterinary version of this drug (ivermectin) which is out there a lot because animals get these parasites - obviously you are going to advise against this .. Dr Pierre Kory: Yeah, no, we cannot advise to take the veterinary version - we don't have the safety data for that. Our whole goal is that to disseminate the knowledge of its unparalleled efficacy ..
The NIH also has a webpage where from many months ago they have advised against using veterinary grade ivermectin. They have also advised against ivermectin (NIH only recently changed it to a neutral stance after FLCCC president Dr Pierre Kory's Senate testimony arguing for NIH to reexamine it's stance on ivermectin which is needlessly turning away doctors from what is potentially a very useful addition to the arsenal of life-saving drugs for covid19, then the Senate letter to NIH, FLCCC presentation to NIH, and then NIH partial reversal of it's stance).
However, the restrictions in the U.S. mean that many people have been regularly dosing on the veterinary form (including the horse paste - which has more additives than the injectable form) - in both cases, both with the horse paste and with the liquid injectable form, they have been taken orally by desperate folks. Those who were making sure the dosing was accurate have not reported any ill effects, as far I am aware (but I am not an expert on veterinary dosing).
However, we cannot advocate using the veterinary form of ivermectin here on this sub-reddit. Ideally you should get a consultation with one of the doctors who do prescribe ivermectin (from the FLCCC website). But with the rapid course of this disease, availability of ivermectin can be a time-sensitive issue for many patients. So you should weigh the risks against your compulsions to act fast.
For online consults with doctors who prescribe early treatment ie ivermectin for all stages and steroids for day 8 from first symptoms - I have added some links in this comment I made elsewhere:
