A question. We know that ivermectin is toxic if it passes the blood brain barrier. We also know that it can be stored for weeks maby in fatty tissues in our body. Why is safe to take benzodiazepines or alcohol in only two days before and after someone takes ivermectin?

My understanding is it does not cross the BBB in humans. We are vertebrates and something about the way we're made prevents that from happening. I've never read that it's stored on our fat for weeks. It actually has a pretty short half life. If you normally take benzos you should not alter your dose or avoid it just bc of IVM. I take them and was just fine. Of course I'd abstain from alcohol just to be safe since I don't know what the state of your liver is.
