Court orders Rochester General to give experimental COVID treatment to patient (NY US 2021-01-25) Judge orders MDs to administer ivermectin to 65-year-old patient[-] Done_Quixote | 1 points
Ivermectin is cheap and no longer under patent. It will not get approval as a covid 19 medication until its somehow been re-patented and they can profit from it.
Imagine if the general public found out ivermectin could cure you of covid 19. How much would all those hands in pockets make from the multiple vaccines going to currently go to billions of people around the world with booster shots at higher price every 6 to 12 months for new variants that they will undoubtedly find?
This is the drug equivalent of Wall Street.

I guess you can save your Mom's life if you can afford attorneys fees.
A state Supreme Court judge from Orleans County has ordered Rochester General Hospital to give an experimental COVID treatment to a patient in its intensive care unit.
Last Thursday, Judge Frank Caruso ordered that doctors begin administering ivermectin to the patient, a 65-year old-woman from Albion.
Ivermectin is approved in the U. S. in tablet form to treat parasitic worms as well as a topical solution to treat external parasites. The drug is also used to treat similar conditions in animals.
It has been touted as an alternative COVID-19 treatment, but is not approved for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 by either the U. S. Food and Drug Administration or the National Institutes of Health.
It is not disapproved by NIH.
The surge of interest in the alternative treatment has grown since its use was touted during a Senate hearing last month.
Dr. Pierre Kory, a pulmonary and critical care specialist at Aurora St Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, described ivermectin as a "wonder drug" with immensely powerful antiviral and anti-inflammatory agents at the hearing before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Clips of Dr. Kory’s comments on ivermectin were shared widely on social media.

Other experts say more research is needed before concluding the treatment is safe and effective.
Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious disease expert at Johns Hopkins University, told the Associated Press that most of the research around ivermectin at the moment is made up of anecdotes and studies that are not the gold standard in terms of how to use ivermectin.
It was a no-fact fact check. Neither Adalja or the other person interviewed by AP knew anything about ivermectin. Neither had published one word about it. The AP article was indistinguishable from a purposeful hit job. Grrrr.
"We need to get much more data before we can say this is a definitive treatment," he said. "We would like to see more data before I recommend it to my patients. "
You need to read the f-ing research, you ignorant attention hound. If you were honest you would have told the AP that you didn't know anything about the subject.
