I'm with you. The focus should be on how much is safe to take as prophylaxis for months on end, since its normal use is only once or twice a year.

If there's a medicine that treats the disease than you can't approve new experimental vaccine. Someone would need to explain a lot of things if IVM would be suddenly approved for treating Covid19.

• It is easy to argue against use of paracetamol/acetaminophen, because it reduces fever, which is a primary way they body fights viral infections. When temperature reaches around 102.5°F, the production of interferon quadruples, roughly. To weaken that response is to help the virus thrive.
I have written comments to the primary article about the rapidly evolving state of knowledge about ivermectin and about the ethics of this situation.
It would NOW be unethical not to use ivermectin. That may not have been the case in November or December, when this patient was in hospital.

3000 people are going to die each day for the next 30+ days in the USA, imagine if 10% could be saved by ivermectin, imagine 50%

Ridiculously long safety record, they won't even try it.

It's politics, one more thing that's been poisoned by the last four years.

A year from now Fauci will admit it helps. It will be pointless then and half a million dead but okay, apparently this is how our country works.
