Itching after initial prophylaxis doses

Greetings,

What an awesome resource this board has been.

I took my 2nd dose of the FLCC prophylaxis protocol yesterday - 18mg on Friday and an additional 18 mg on Sunday.

Today I’m experiencing pretty widespread itching throughout the day. Is this a common occurrence? Any idea how long I should expect this to last?

Thanks

It's a non-dangerous side effect that is usually found when treating river blindness, apparently. Check the article here: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/ivermectin-side-effects.html

How bad is the itching?

Yeah I read about it being a side effect, was just curious if others had experienced it in using it in this way.

It’s noticeable, but not unbearable.

It's potentially associated with the death of some parasites. On the second or third dose it shouldn't happen.

Others who experienced this please chime in.

Could just be dry skin because of low humidity. Is it really dry/cold where you are?

I had the opposite side-effect: decades-long itching that was bad enough to interfere with sleep 1-2 nights/week was GONE after a few weeks of ivermectin (or it took me that long to notice). MITES.

I had itching a couple of days after when i had a couple of glasses of wine. I think you need to wait a week to enjoy a glass of wine after popping ivermectin.

Ah, this might explain it, I had a couple glasses of wine on Saturday night!
