Ivermectin with DoxycyclineHas anybody tried mixing the two? I've seen this recommended by drs as the cure for longhaulers. Also I've seen this product sold as a fish antibiotic and I'm wondering what your guys take would be on taking it? Considering the state of the whole ivermectin horse paste i dont think this would be a problem either. What do you think? Has anybody tried this?

Morgenstern and ors in the Dominican Republic in April went with ivm plus azithromycin.
doxy is know for his protective role in lung injury, has antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities by dampening the cytokine storm to prevent lung damage at mid to late stage of covid however it isn't effective at early stages of infection so it doesn't make any sense to take it as prophylaxis.

I don't think it makes sense for prophylaxis: an antibiotic messes up your internal flora so you don't want to take it over a long period of time. I have some DOXY on hand in case I catch the virus, though.
IVM + DOXY are paired in several treatment trials and did well. There's ONE trial where IVM + DOXY did worse than just IVM -- but in the IVM + DOXY arm they did just one dose of IVM vs doses over 5 days in the IVM arm -- so it doesn't really tell us whether there's synergy between IVM and DOXY. IIRC.

What is arm? Yeah I've been a longhauler since may and have almost died on numerous occasions so I'm just trying to figure out how to get back to full health. I've been doing ivermectin and it brought me from probably 60% health to 90%. The last 10% I'm dealing with is completely in my head/brain and since I read something about how IVM doesnt cross the blood brain barrier that's why I've been considering DOXY.

A trial usually has a minimum of two arms, a synonym for two groups of subjects: the treatment arm that gets ivermectin for example, and the control arm that doesn't.
I'm glad that ivermectin helped you recover!
I have no idea if doxy will help you, sorry. The best resource for you might be /r/covidlonghaulers.
Hopefully some other /r/ivermectin readers will offer useful information.

Very sorry to hear you're suffering from Long Covid! Congratulations on your research that has led to gaining much of your health back. Have you tried a pulse of corticosteroids? This has worked well for many with Long Covid. Dr. Been gives it to all his Long Covid patients and has seen very positive results. Also, the one study for Ivermectin in Long Covid had a very impressive result with almost all subjects (n=33) reaching complete clinical resolution. They used multiple doses and some recieved higher doses at 400mcg/kg. You might want to check out their protocol and compare it to your IVM dosing. Here is a link: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/344318845_POST-ACUTE_OR_PROLONGED_COVID-19_IVERMECTIN_TREATMENT_FOR_PATIENTS_WITH_PERSISTENT_SYMPTOMS_OR_POST-ACUTE
Finally, you might check out the Immune Supplement spreadsheet I've compiled. At the bottom it has a Recovery-Long Covid section that lists supplements that many feel are helpful. I've included links to the evidence and examples of where they can be purchased. Good luck in reaching a full recovery!

Hi Paul,
Thats an awesome Excel file that you have put together--thanks so much for sharing it. It prompted me to order a couple of the items that you listed. Question: I see you have Xylitol nasal spray listed at onset of symptoms. I recently read of someone putting 1% liquid Ivermectin as nasal spray (put into nasal spray bottle and used as such) . I thought it was an interesting idea.

Hi Joseph, I'm happy to hear you found it useful. I haven't heard of anyone prophylaxing with IVM liquid in a nasal spray. I know Argentina prophylaxed with IVM liquid orally in the IVERCAR trial. They used carrageenan topical in the nose. I don't think it was sprayed but applied with a Qtip or similar. At least that's what I recall but don't quote me. It does seem that IVM would probably be helpful as a nasal spray in theory. There is a trial for a new inhaled formulation of IVM that showed positive results too. TBH, I think that inhaled IVM is a solution looking for a problem though. Oral IVM is extremely effective when given early after symptom onset and it reaches very high concentrations quickly in the lungs. My preferred IVM dosing at this time is 400mcg/kg days 1, 3 and 5 immediately after symptom onset. I may bump that up after we see the results from the high dose Italian RCT this month.

Thanks Paul for sharing your thoughts and information. The 400mcg/kg is interesting. What form Ivm (pill, paste, 1% liquid) would you be taking it in?

I have both. Pills first and paste if symptoms persist. Paste for friends too. I have many equine friends. ;)
I'd have no issues with the liquid either.

I was going to mention but the above comment covers most of it.
You may benefit from Dr Been's short 6 day steroids course ie prednisolone 15mg, 15, 10, 10, 5, 5.
He has given this to his long hauler patients and reports that it brings long haulers back to near 100pct - those that don't he repeats it after a week or two and reports that covers the remaining cases.
For recovered patients the risk of stroke is 8x higher or so - which is why some doctors like medcram (Dr Seheult) in his YouTube videos had mentioned that recovered patients should be continued on steroids and anti-coagulants for another month or two just to avoid stroke etc.
