lvermectin dosing: 2 days or 5 days?

Confused about the dosing schedule:

I-MASK+ protocol recommends one dose on day 1 and day 3.

Whereas multiple studies were dosing daily for 5 consecutive days.

Is there any explanation for the shorter recommendation? just being extra cautious?
