Potential herxheimer reaction?

I’ve heard that ivermectin is dangerous if you have Lyme disease due to it causing a herxheimer reaction where your cytokines go nuts with all the sudden death of microbes in your body. Is this a likely possibility if I eat the paste?

Haven’t heard any adverse effects anywhere but I’m sure I have a decent amount of demodex, candida and mycotoxins from years of mold exposure. No parasites as far as I know. Those who take it say they have noticed a sort of cleansing where their body expels a bunch of things they didn’t know they had. Itchiness was the worst symptom.

I've heard the itchy uncomfortable feeling of having an intubation tube is way worse than the IVM itching. Seriously - looks like a minor issue that would resolve within a week or two https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=ivermectin+herxheimer

Hubby got West Nile Virus years ago, has never been quite the same. There are similarities between WNV and Lyme dz. He took IVM and had horrific herx response. Hopefully it was worth it.

Request someone to provide information about below questions:

Kindly note that I'm not requesting and reaching out with a mere curiosity but with humble and genuine concern.

  1. What is the suggested "Chemo Prophylaxis" for Indians, I'm in Bangalore. IVM alone would suffice?

  2. What are contraindications of IVM? I'm a chronic dyspepsia and gastritis patient. Does IVM has any contraindications on GI or Renal functionality?

  3. What is the suggested dosage of IVM once a week or twice a week? I'm 65Kg weight.

Thank you.

I'm not a doctor; this isn't medical advice. I think there's a good consensus for 12mg/week of ivermectin, taken a couple hours after eating a fatty meal. There's strong evidence that vitamin D is helpful, weaker evidence for quercetin and NAC.

What are contraindications of IVM? I'm a chronic dyspepsia and gastritis patient. Does IVM has any contraindications on GI or Renal functionality?

I've never heard of that being a problem with ivermectin, but that doesn't mean it's not. I suggest trying a small dose, like 3mg or 6mg and see how it goes.

Using this site, I calculated that the standard dose for you would be 6mg. That's dosing at 200mcg/kg. I happen to be taking ivermectin twice a week, but I may be the only person on the planet taking it that often. During the FLCCC presentation today, the prophylaxis schedule that Dr. Marik recommended was standard dose on days 1 and 3, and monthly after that. That's the protocol in some parts of India, too, if memory serves. Uttar Pradesh, I believe.

I can't speak specifically about Lyme, but it's reasonable to assume that someone who has parasites (be it something as simple and common as Demodex or something more serious) would experience die-off effects when they first take ivermectin. Given how serious a Herx can be, I would talk to a physician about it if it's a personal concern.

I had Demodex or some other mite: my side-effect was the end of decades-long chronic itching. It's such a relief!
