Is this like ivermectin making the NY Times list of covid-19 treatments, but getting a bad write-up? Is it good news because it shows that the FDA is actually aware of ivermectin? Why was this change made yesterday? Did the FDA hear about the Egyptian study demonstrating that ivermectin provides prophylaxis? Who knows?

New Sections of the Guidelines

Ivermectin

A new subsection was added to Potential Antiviral Drugs Under Evaluation for the Treatment of COVID-19 to address the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19. The Panel recommends against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19, except in a clinical trial (AIII).

Here is the linked FDA page, also updated 2020-08-27.

Wow, interesting: the linked page has a long explication of the Broward Country ICON study -- concluding "The limitations of this retrospective analysis make it difficult to draw conclusions about the efficacy of using ivermectin to treat patients with COVID-19." The citations on that page are interesting. Dr. Chaccour. No Bangladesh research.
