Ivermectin Triple Therapy Protocol Released to Australian GPs for COVID-19 patients

Hi there folks, I have just been reading an article in ‘Business News Asia’ that is reporting Dr Professor Thomas Borody who invented the cure for peptic ulcers has released an Ivermectin antibiotic triple therapy protocol to Australian GPs. Professor Borody has said the therapy can be legally prescribed “off label” by Australian GPs to their COVID-19 positive patients. Here is the Business News Article for further details: Ivermectin Triple Therapy Protocol for COVID-19 Released to Australian GPs for infected Elderly and Frontline Workers.

A few days earlier I was listening to an informative podcast interview with Professor Borody published on the Triple M Network, giving more details about the professor and his Ivermectin triple therapy.

Some positive news it seems in the fight against the virus. Hopefully the Ivermectin triple therapy can make a difference to front-line workers and the infected elderly.

Thanks for the post. Next time put (Australia 2020-08-19) or whatever the article's date is, after the title. Please read the naming convention post at the top.

Thanks for the post, and the explanation and additional links. Nice!

Did the professor give any indication that he has done any research into his triple therapy, other than read articles? Has he treated patients with it? Done a trial?

My impression based on nothing is that he just made up his triple therapy, and it's getting a lot of attention because he's a famous respected guy.

As of his announcement, twitter is full of people extolling ivermectin with zinc. When I'm not too tired, I correct them, saying that there's no research supporting the thesis.

There are 4 trials looking at ivermectin + zinc, all in the recruiting or pre-recruiting phase.

I think it's very cool that he has instigated the trial in California. Hope it works!

Edit: This is the trial on ClinicalTrials.

Edit: This trial won't be completed for 12 - 16 months. From ClinicalTrials:

Estimated Study Start Date : August 2020
Estimated Primary Completion Date : August 2022
Estimated Study Completion Date : January 2023
