Vancouver based company will begin pre-clinical trials for it's Ivermectin rapid dissolve oral strip[-] strongerthrulife | 2 points
If it’s working why is Peru cases/deaths so high lately?
Is it not being used?

I don't think it's being used on the whole country, just a couple areas. I think accessibility plays a role as well, from reading about other countries where it's sold over the counter it sounds like its very hard to find at the moment

It's very early on for their new technology, they are currently going to being testing just for plasma concentration, absorption in animals given the oral strip in hopes that they can demonstrate a better absorbtion rate for ivermectin in humans. In the press release they acknowledge the potential therapeutic benefit of ivermectin in treating covid-19.
"Mountain Valley MD Holdings Inc. (the "Company" or "MVMD") (CSE: MVMD) (FRA:20MP) is pleased to announce the commencement of two pre-clinical trials designed to demonstrate the efficacy of its proprietary Quicksome™ technology in overcoming key absorption limitations of the oral drug Ivermectin plus provide data on the pharmacokinetics of the Quicksome™ oral strip sublingual technology. In preparation for these clinical trials, the company has successfully complexed ivermectin into its proprietary Quicksome™ rapid dissolve oral strip technology.
Ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug that is administered to billions of livestock and companion animals annually and to humans to treat various parasitic infestations including development of broader applications for the control of malaria. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)* research published in May 2020, ivermectin has antiviral potential to inhibit virus action and is currently being explored by various companies in clinical trials for potential use in treating COVID-19. Ivermectin is also widely used and available as an effective in vitro treatment against HIV, dengue, Zika virus, and others.

This appears to be a press release promoting their technology. Not covid-19 related, AFAIK.
Ivermectin is also widely used and available as an effective in vitro treatment against HIV, dengue, Zika virus, and others.
Effective "in vitro"? Used to kill viruses in a test tube? LOL. Ivermectin is not effective against any of those viruses, AFAIK. There was a trial against dengue which found no therapeutic effect.

very very cool, hopefully more studies, sponsored or otherwise
CDC/NIH really needs to start paying attention and help people
but I think they are under the thumb of the whitehouse and commercial interests like remdesivir
er, this line isn't right:
Ivermectin is a BCS Class IIa drug, with poor water solubility, poor absorption
