Government authorities gave the green light on Monday to the encapsulation of the city of Trinidad, in the department of Beni, where a house-to-house raking will also be carried out for five days to detect suspected cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
I think "raking" should be "testing".
In a public ceremony, the ministers of the Presidency, Yerko Núñez; of Defense, Fernando López; and Energías, Rodrigo Guzmán, began a significant deployment of brigades made up of members of the Armed Forces and the Police, as well as doctors, nurses, and staff from the Trinidad City Hall.
"All efforts to mitigate the impact on deaths are worth it, a Beniano or a Beniana is worth it, a Bolivian and a Bolivian are worth making all the efforts," the Defense Minister remarked when initiating the encapsulation of Trinidad, that seeks to stop the advance of the pandemic in that region.
Does encapsulation mean isolation?
Beni is the second department (after Santa Cruz) most affected by COVID-19, where the number of infected people rises to 1,809 at the end of May, and the number of deceased is 92. The city of Trinidad concentrates most of of infections.
The Defense Minister asked for the collaboration of the Trinidadian people so that the operation is successful and can be replicated later in other regions of the Beni department.
"The time has come to work for Beni, for the Beniano brothers," he stressed.
For his part, the Minister of the Presidency thanked the doctors and nurses for their work and effort, who are at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic, in addition to the Armed Forces and the Police, whose support is essential to fight the virus.
"It is good that Bolivians are united, this pandemic faces it with a lot of solidarity, thanks to Bolivia for the solidarity they have this time with the Beniano people," he said.
