This guy went through hell and back and did the round trip three more times. Finally he took praziquantel 60mg/kg and ivermectin and that did the trick.

Hi there, thanks for checking in! After being rejected in the US from 8 different doctors , and specialists (GI, Urologist, and Infectious Disease) - I was at a loss. I went to the best hospitals in California, Stanford, CPMC, UCSF, and doctor after doctor told me the same thing - nothing is wrong. I faced multiple rejections from the infectious disease clinics in those hospitals and FINALLY had one appointment with a ID specialist that told me (when I walked into his office) that he reviewed my file and nothing is wrong, and he refuses to do any more tests on me. The doctors and hospitals in the US refused to believe me, refused to follow up with further testing, and refused to assist me in getting treatment or finding specialists that cared. Everyone telling me there was nothing wrong with me, and I was at a loss.

Just before the COVID border closures, I went to the Tropical Institute in Antwerp, Belgium, where they did a ton of tests. The doctor I saw did think to do antibody tests and found small amounts of antibodies for schistosomiasis and filariasis. The antibody test was negative (although there were antibodies, and there was a non-zero antibody result), and the doctor that prescribed the tests said nothing was wrong.

When I scheduled an appointment with a research parasitologist to contest the first doctors findings, he elevated my case as a complex one, gaining the attention of the lead research parasitologist. He said that in rare cases, a chronic, low grade infection can occur without having a high enough antibody count to yield a 'positive' result. Additionally, he mentioned that testing for ova is only effective for acute infections, and not for chronic - so the method of testing in the US isn't accurate.

He put me on a single empirical therapy of praziquantel 60mg/kg and ivermectin (don't remember the dose, but 4 pills) - and it took 2-3 months for me to fully regain mental and lung function, but now I am better!!! I have so much strength, my lung capacity is back, my head is clear, my abdomen doesn't hurt anymore, and even my dysuria is 90% gone. I'm genuinely back to normal! I simply cannot believe it. The improvements didn't happen overnight, in fact, from day to day, I didn't notice anything. From one week to the next the improvements were slight and gradual. From month to month, it's like night and day. I took the therapy in March, and today, I finally feel like myself.

THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING UP!
