The Minister of Health, Víctor Zamora , participated in the delivery of medications for patients with coronavirus . Medicines include ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, questioned for not having proven efficacy against COVID- 19 and its side effects.
"We have calculated in a first phase, guaranteeing treatment for 200,000 people who have either symptoms compatible with COVID -19 or positive laboratory diagnosis. We are making an additional purchase of 200,000 more in case we fall short," he said.
Zamora showed the drugs on camera and pointed out that they are part of the three treatment schemes offered by the Minsa for the treatment of coronavirus.
"There are three types of treatment (...) this is decided by the treating doctor. That is to avoid self-medication and make it a safe treatment," noted Zamora.
