Official title: Clinical Trial Evaluating Safety and Efficacy of Ivermectin and Nitazoxanide Combination as Adjuvant Therapy in COVID-19 Newly Diagnosed Egyptian Patients: A Tanta University Hope
This study will be a double blind randomized controlled parallel study with 100 participants.
Treatment: Ivermectin 200 mcg/kg once orally on empty stomach plus Nitazoxanide 500 mg twice daily orally with meal for 6 days
Masking: Double (Participant, Investigator)

Primary Outcome Measures :
Number of Patients with COVID-19-negative PCR [ Time Frame: within 10 days ] COVID-19 PCR analysis
That is, how many subjects are cleared of the virus after 10 days.
There are a bunch of secondary outcome measures, including mortality rate.
The dose of ivermectin is standard, the amount already approved by the FDA for the treatment of scabies (if memory serves).
As seems typical, the age cut-off for subjects is 65. Why study the people who are dying the most -- the age group that is most likely to benefit from the drug? The age group where your study could save the most lives during the study?
