Is being used with success in the Dominican Republic https://acento.com.do/2020/salud/8814342-a-paso-de-vencedor-tratamiento-de-covid-19-con-ivermectina-en-puerto-plata-y-punta-cana/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
In Peru as well, it's been made part of the official treatment regime there. Good signs!

the doctor is currently in the process of publishing a scientific paper—he is some weeks out from completion.
Article was reported April 23rd, research had been ongoing for a few weeks at that point, but no paper published yet. Keep your eyes open...
Another slightly earlier article about the same. https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/local-doctor-tries-new-coronavirus-drug-treatment/2219465/

“If we get to these people early, and what I mean by that is their oxygen requirements are less than 50%, I’ve had nearly a 100% response rate, they all improve"
That is the biggest quote from this article, I read it a while ago, huge implications. Because of the way Ivermectin works against the virus, it seems more effective earlier on.

Exactly, it's not a hail Mary to bring someone back from the brink, it's a first line of defense.
Still, when early is defined as only needing a little bit of oxygen then there's still hope that the current medical system can use it. If it needed to be really early intervention then that would take it out of the realm of professionals and into the realm of diy-ers and all the risks that entails.

We have all sorts of medicine on hand for diy’ers though- Advil, Tylenol, cough medicine- that if taken in inappropriate amounts can harm us. If ivermectin truly works early, we should have enough on hand for people to access the second they get a positive covid test. And we need enough tests for everyone to get one the day they start feeling sick. This protocol- early testing plus ivermectin- could lead to far fewer people getting seriously sick right?

You're right, but there's less math involved in reading a label to take 1 or 2 pills every 6 hours than there is in calculating mcg/kg body weight and converting all the units to figure out how much of 1.87% paste to take. Does the dosing need to be precise? I don't know.
